Best Results for Everyone

I’m writing to encourage fellow Madisonians to vote for Owen Charles for the Board of Finance.

I could say he’s qualified because he’s already served on the Board of Finance (2007-2009), or because he earned an MBA and worked 23 years in finance and business-related roles in clinical research.

I could mention the long list of positions he’s held: on Madison’s cable access board of directors, as our representative to the Regional Mental Health Board, working in health-care management and as a member of the Drug Information Association, training as a registered nurse and a special education teacher.

The most important reason I’m voting for him, however, is because he started a Green Party in town. He’s running as a Green because he’s tired of the old party politics. He wants to supplement the Republicans and Democrats on the Board of Finance with some fresh ideas on education, environment, and working for our whole community. I’ve known Owen for years and he really believes that we are all members of one body and should look out for each other’s interests, working together to produce the best results for everyone, not just a few. He’ll support new initiatives, like green energy for the new library and putting education plans on a sound financial footing. Because of Owen Charles, I joined the Green Party. Now I want to see him have a chance to make a difference.
