Leadership and Commitment

I have worked alongside Fred Dudek for the last 35 years at the Killingworth Volunteer Fire Company (KVFC) and have seen firsthand the impact he has had on our organization as well as the many Connecticut and national fire service organizations that Fred has been a part of. Fred has a passion for being the best and being “all in” when he’s involved, which is best evidenced by his 16 years as fire chief—essentially a second full-time job for him. On a personal level, Fred has been a tremendous mentor to myself and many other firefighters in the KVFC who have risen through the ranks under his leadership. In full disclosure, it’s not always a love-fest, but while we may not always agree with Fred, his decisions and positions on matters were always made with the best interests of the town and/or the KVFC in mind.

What can the Town of Killingworth expect from Fred Dudek? A committed, dedicated, and strong leader that will be all in with his responsibilities. How do I know this? Look at Fred’s track record. Anything he has been involved in, whether the KVFC, State 9-1-1 Commission, State Fire Academy, State Fire Chiefs Association, Board of Finance, Board of Selectman, in every case you see examples of leadership and commitment. Fred is never just along for the ride; Fred becomes invested in everything he is a part of and puts forth 110 percent to be sure he always leaves it better than he found it. I am confident that we will see the same with Fred Dudek as our town’s first selectman.

I encourage your readers to also be all in and join me in supporting Fred Dudek for first selectman—the best is yet to come!
