Taken the Time and Effort

Back in January 2015, the Clinton Board of Selectmen passed a resolution to be fully sustainable in terms of energy consumption by 2030. While good progress has been made with solar panels on the schools and on the Department of Public Works offices and the replacement of street lights with LED bulbs, there is plenty left to do. It is also imperative to ensure we continue to improve our town’s infrastructure to reduce the impact of any major storms.

This is why I will be voting for Christine Goupil and the entire Board of Selectmen team in the upcoming primary on Sept. 12. Christine has already proposed several new energy saving initiatives and ways we can improve the town’s resiliency. Over the past few years, she has taken the time and effort to attend conferences and to reach out to experts around the state to help her develop ideas that are best suited to our town’s needs. She is committed to being proactive in applying for energy saving programs and grants as well as call upon the state’s existing resources such as Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaption at UConn’s Avery Point for advice.

We need a dedicated candidate like Christine who is very aware about the ever-changing environment we live in.
