Positive and Productive

Election time is here. Flip-flopping Phil Sengle has filed a petition so that he can run against Carol Walter and John Giannotti for a seat on the Board of Selectman. I know him to be a spender and a rubber-stamper. He’s the kind of guy who tells you what you want to hear and within hours he is telling someone else the complete opposite. I don’t think he represents the values and vision that we have for Clinton.

What most of us know about Phil is that he spends an awful lot of time writing letters to the paper, slinging mud at friends and foe. He rarely has anything positive to say or write, and I have yet to hear his plan for Clinton’s future. He complains about a lot, but never offers solutions. We don’t need people rolling in to town and criticizing everything. Naysayers like him and Vin Cimino continue to tear our town apart.

John and Carol have proven that they listen and they threat people with respect. They don’t take to the papers every time they disagree on an issue, they try to work it out amicably and give everybody the opportunity to weigh in. They conduct themselves and their meetings with civility, something their opponents certainly lack.

Let’s stay with honest and open discussions. Let’s support John and Carol and allow them the opportunity to continue using their experience and dedication to move Clinton forward in a positive and productive way.
