People Want Change

I have read Steve Tracey’s Aug. 24 letter “Residents should be Skeptical” and they should be skeptical of him. After an unsuccessful bid to unseat State Representative James Albis this past November, he is now trying his hand to run on Joe Maturo’s ticket for Town Council in the 4th District. But why? The reason is due to his even more unsuccessful attempt to lobby the Democratic Town Committee for support to run for mayor with the new Democratic Party he hypocritically now condemns. He was ready to switch parties and run as a Democrat. The public should know he was rejected and bypassed in favor of an honest and hardworking person for the people, Sal Maltese.

Tracey talks of three deficits and other financial losses at the hand of the Democrats and I say show me the proof on paper. He cannot. Because of the Maturo administration, we were regrettably saddled with dilapidated grounds, buildings in disrepair, and worn-out equipment—the very same scenario we are facing now.

Now Tracey has taken a seat on the Maturo/Republican hypocritical band wagon. The residents of East Haven will not be fooled by Maturo’s false surpluses and self-promoting election-year gimmicks. People want change from the town’s poor image and condition, the outrageous Board of Education’s financial practices, and ever-declining property values. Change is coming and its name is Sal Maltese.
