Moving our Town Forward

My husband is honored to serve as first selectman of our beautiful Town of Clinton. His career as a senior officer of a reinsurance company, responsible for a world-wide portfolio specializing in catastrophic events, coupled with his experience as a member of public and non-profit boards and commissions, enabled him to hit the ground running 22 short months ago. He has been running non-stop since that time. He works an average of 60 hours plus three evening meetings each week. His capacity for taking on challenges day and night is moving our town forward.

He is also on call 24/7 and emergency management situations of all types require him to remain calm and focused in order to employ health and safety protocols. He has declined all raises and takes no town benefits. Bruce has maintained our town credit rating two years in a row and has testified in Hartford for our town against the governor’s horrible budget.

He has accomplished a great deal in 22 months for which others will inform you about like getting hundreds of thousands in state grant funding. The list is extensive. He will not brag about it as he believes that all we do is a team effort. He reminds me that “town governance is serious business and not a popularity contest.” He also believes it is essential that we move our town forward on all levels while preserving our quality of life, environment and safety.

I encourage your readers to vote for Bruce so that he can continue to provide positive change, greater efficiencies, and ethical leadership for Clinton.
