Do What’s Right

My name is Tim Guerra and I’m running for a seat on the Board of Selectman in the upcoming primary. I’ve lived in Clinton more than 30 years, raised three boys with my wife Morna, and have participated in many facets of life in Clinton including Park and Rec’s Little League Committee, the High School Booster Club, and serving 12 years on the Planning & Zoning Commission (PZC).

Clinton’s a great place to live. This town, however, deserves more. It deserves the old Morgan School, Unilever, and Cashman/Friendly’s properties to be developed to help reduce taxes. It has to be done in a way that all will prosper: the town, developer and townspeople. It has to be open for anyone to bid, with no back door deals and with all ideas welcome.

What I haven’t liked is the last few years of town government and the way it’s been run. It’s time for all townspeople to be able to trust their leaders to do what’s right. I treat people the way I’d like to be treated. I’ve always asked myself in making decisions on PZC, especially the tough ones, “What’s the right thing to do?” I’ll continue to do that when elected to the Board of Selectmen.

Clinton needs leadership that will listen to the people, and be open to their comments, opinions, and ideas. It needs leaders who’ll work closely with all boards and commissions, aggressively pursue economic development, keep our townspeople safe, promote the best school system possible, and most important, reduce taxes.

There’s only one group that can and wants to do that. I encourage your readers to vote Line A: Christine Goupil, Timothy Guerra, and Jack Scherban. We’ll do what’s right for Clinton. We have no personal or hidden agendas.
