The Highest of Standards

It may seem odd for a wife to write a letter to the editor to endorse her husband, but I find it important that your readers really know the man they will be voting for. Politics don’t always tell the truth.

Robert Hartmann is a man with principals and a strong work ethic. He has the highest of standards. He leads by example.

Robert Hartmann is a man with integrity. He will not tell you something to be elected. He will not allow you to believe that he can accomplish something unless he truly believes it is possible. It might not be what you want to hear, but it will be the truth.

Robert Hartmann is loyal; he has life-long friends and colleagues around the world. His international time has allowed him to experience and learn from many cultures. He will not shrug someone off for being different in views, opinions, or values, even if he disagrees. Robert will carefully listen and discuss with everyone.

Robert Hartmann has the ability to see in others what most of us would not even consider. He has an ability to take on the most difficult of people and befriend them with ease. I always say he does attract them!

Robert Hartmann is not afraid to say he is wrong, apologize, and fix it. This to me is one of the strongest character traits that anyone can have. After all we are not perfect. He approaches issues/problems with solutions not just criticisms. He fights fair.

When we married 29 years ago, I knew we would settle in Guilford. His love for this town is next to none. It is with honor and pleasure that I stand beside my husband and recommend Robert J. Hartmann, Jr., for our next first selectman of Guilford.
