Financial Experience, Political Will

A friend of mine recently moved to Branford from Massachusetts. She told me, “I can’t believe the taxes here. Connecticut taxes everything! I’m shocked, and I’m from Taxachusetts!” I just nodded in agreement.

It’s time to elect experienced, talented people to represent us in Guilford who won’t continue to raise taxes and will focus on reducing spending—something greatly needed to ensure that we can manage the deal with the significant financial cuts we now face from the State of Connecticut.

On Sept. 12, I’m voting for Ken MacKenzie for first selectman. Ken has experience serving in local government. He has been working to lower taxes, improve schools, and help small businesses. He knows how to grow jobs and the economy. Why? Because he has experience doing just this in running his small business as well as a successful 25-plus year career in financial services. The state is in a fiscal crisis that has now come to roost in Guilford. We need someone like Ken who has the financial experience and political will to move our town in the right direction.

I’m also a member of the Guilford Republican Town Committee joining those in our membership who now support Ken. We desperately need a new direction and a new voice in Hartford. Ken will be our new voice taking us in a direction of prosperity. I encourage your readers to join me in voting for Ken MacKenzie in the Sept. 12 primary.
