As the Pilot...

As the pilot of the biplane that made a forced landing on the Guilford Fairgrounds field, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the Guilford Police and Fire departments for their speedy response to my emergency. Not only did they act quickly, they showed the utmost professionalism, diligence, teamwork, and sincerity in their efforts. In addition, the firefighters and several volunteers from the Fairgrounds Association went above and beyond what was expected, spending more than five hours dismantling and transporting the airplane.

Without the extraordinary efforts of these people, a difficult situation would have been that much worse.
