Values and Aspirations

On Sept. 12, Clinton Democrats will vote in a primary, selecting the strongest team to serve our town. The Clinton Democratic Town Committee has endorsed a fantastic slate of candidates, volunteers who represent the values and aspirations of our wonderful town.

Christine Goupil, Tim Guerra, and Jack Scherban have served this town on various boards and commissions and are ready to step up and run for first selectman and Board of Selectmen.

Our responsibility as a town committee is to endorse a slate that represents us and the broader community. Incumbent opponents had their chance. They have not won the majority of votes in town elections since 2011. It is time to give others the opportunity to present fresh, new ideas and advance to the November election.

I have been a Democratic activist for almost 50 years, serving on boards and commissions for this town and the State of Connecticut. I am running for Board of Finance. I am proud to be part of this amazing Democratic team!

On Sept. 12, I encourage your readers to vote for the endorsed Democratic slate. New leadership and new energy is what Clinton needs now.
