Quiet, Unassuming, and Competent

I love living in Killingworth and my husband and I have often said that our first selectman, Cathy Iino, is the main reason this community works so well. Although we moved here only a few years ago, due to Cathy’s caring, inclusive outreach, we have become involved in several community organizations and boards.

The more involved we get, the more we realize how many people have been positively influenced and engaged by Cathy’s quiet, unassuming, and competent style of hands-on governance. One of her many leadership qualities is knowing how to ask people to make contributions that fit their interests and skills. The results show how effective that approach can be in a small town.

Cathy makes sure she is in attendance at local events, from celebrating our 350th to library programs, farm markets, and scout functions. At the same time she keeps well informed at the state level, never losing sight of the big picture in terms of the effect of state politics on our town.

Killingworth cannot do better than to have Cathy continue in her effective leadership of our town for the next two years. I hope Killingworth voters will proudly and confidently vote for Cathy Iino for first selectman on Nov. 7.
