A Celebration of Literacy

The Friends of the Blackstone Library would like to thank all who contribute to our annual book sale on the green. This year’s sale will be Friday to Sunday, Sept. 29 to Oct 1. Last year we took in a record $60,000. Thanks go to all who donated books, shopped, and volunteered! We have been collecting and sorting books all year long and anticipate another great sale.

We ask book donors for this year’s sale to please get their books in as soon as possible to allow time for proper sorting. Collection bins are conveniently located behind the library and at the Volunteer Service Center on Harrison Avenue. Books should be clean and in good condition. House pick-ups of large collections are available. Just call the library to arrange.

The funds raised support many library services, including children’s programs, museum passes, special purchases such as 3D printers, book acquisition, music and lecture events, staff professional development, and a pledge of $25,000 for the library renovation project.

The book sale is more than just another fundraiser. It is a celebration of literacy and the love of reading, getting back into circulation wonderful books of every genre. It is a community-wide event in support of the vital role the Blackstone Library plays in the life of our town. Thank you for your support
