One Last Time Together

On behalf of the Branford Project Graduation Committee, I would like to thank all of the businesses that donated food, raffle prizes, or money to this year’s event. With their help, we were able to offer the members of the Class of 2017 a safe, substance-free, fun party with non-stop food on June 9, the night of graduation. It was an opportunity for the class to spend one last time together at Branford High School (BHS) before they spread their wings and move on to college, the military, or to work.

We are grateful for the overwhelming generosity of the members of the Branford business community. They have never let us down and the success of Project Graduation is due, in large part, to their contributions.

We are thankful for all the wonderful volunteers who help plan the event. We also owe a debt of thanks the volunteers who spend anywhere from two to 12 hours at Project Graduation to set up, decorate, register the students, serve food, work in the casino, supervise the activities, and clean up. It is difficult to find people who want to help out in the middle of the night (the event runs from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.), but a core group always works the early morning hours. We thank them for allowing us to give the Class of 2017 a safe place to celebrate their graduation.

Last, a shout out to the friendly custodians at BHS who help make sure the event runs smoothly and are ready to help whenever we need it.
