Take Action Locally

For those of your readers feeling disgusted by hateful rhetoric toward immigrants, I encourage them to take action locally and reach out to any number of immigrants working and living here to build a better life. Among the people helping our city become just a bit more diverse are the owners of Thai Sweet Treat on Boston Post Road. Nong and Pui, both from a city north of Bangkok, Thailand, are the owners of the restaurant (right next door to Bufalina), which opened quietly a few months ago. The couple (along with their daughter) chose to settle in Guilford almost entirely because of the strength of our school system.

Without question, people like Nong and Pui make our little city more enriching. I am glad they took a chance on us and I hope they are able to experience the success they have dreamed.
