I am very upset about Memorial Day events. All were canceled because of rain. We have umbrellas, jackets, cars, etc., so we won’t get wet. We can’t take a little weather to pay honor to those who gave their lives so we can do this? What is wrong with us?

Even if only one person was there, that person was paying his or her respects to the fallen who made it possible. I am so proud of this country, but we have really gotten self-centered. I always wear our flag. For $10 you can get one at Walmart. We need to show our allegiance to this country, no matter our politics or the weather!

I hope on the Fourth of July the powers that determine whether or not we have these tributes will keep it in mind. I’ll be there because I can. Those who made the ultimate sacrifice made it possible. I encourage your readers to join me.
