A Heartwarming Example

On behalf of our neighbors in Long Cove, Mulberry Point, and Tuttles Point, we want to thank the more than 1,000 voters who turned out to overwhelmingly support a public water supply for our area. It is a heartwarming example of our Guilford community coming together to help others in need.

The project is already moving ahead thanks to them, and to the tireless efforts of Director of Health Dennis Johnson and the support of First Selectman Joseph Mazza, and other town officials. We also want to thank our dedicated neighbors who kept up the good fight when it looked like this project would never happen.

Now that the solution to our water quality and quantity issues is in sight, we can finally focus on what it will mean to have clean, safe water at our homes within the next two years. Fire hydrants, included in the project, will offer added safety and peace of mind.

None of this would be happening without the support of so many selfless individuals who took time from their busy day out of a sense of community and because they value our collective health and safety. To them, we are forever grateful.
