Springtime Celebration

I’m sitting in a coffee shop on Branford Green and an army of volunteers are pulling wagons and carrying ladders outside the window. Every year the garden club plants the flowers in the hanging baskets that turn our Green area into a festive, springtime celebration.

Many volunteers do many things in our town, but I wanted to bring attention to the work that this group does, which also includes watering the hanging baskets regularly. Maybe some of the stores could water the baskets in front of their area since it would take all of one minute.

By the way, the flowers are purchased by the garden club from its club dues money. I also understand that the garden club takes care of many other town sites as well.

Its easy to take these acts that beautify our town for granted. I thank the garden club members for their relentless work. What they do turns our town into a really special place.
