In Desperate Need

We encourage your readers to support extending the town’s public water system to Mulberry Point, Tuttles Point, and Long Cove—communities in desperate need for safe and reliable water.

Guilford and the state have definitely determined, after years of study, our communities do not have an adequate water supply for ordinary use, and many wells are contaminated. The town and state have definitively determined this project will not cause environmental harm to the Sound, which we all enjoy. This project will cost the other taxpayers of Guilford no money—the project is being funded entirely by residents of these three communities and the Connecticut Water Company.

So, why would anyone volunteer to be assessed? We’re desperately in need of safe water. We encourage your readers to vote “Yes” at the referendum.
