Forever Wearing Wings

I am writing this to applaud the actions of two women in my life. They are both very giving, unselfish, sacrificing women. They are both sisters and my cousins: Peggie Sypher and Diane Foss.

My husband Robbie and my daughter Erica have unfortunately inherited a genetic disease called polycystic kidney disease (PKD).

In July 2014 my cousin Peggie was tested to donate her kidney to my husband Robert. They were a match and the kidney transplant successfully took place at the Yale Transplant Center in November 2014. My daughter Erica is currently administering dialysis in her home five days a week because of her PKD. She needs a kidney. My cousin Diane, from her home in Texas, said that she wanted to be tested to donate her kidney. The result of the testing ended that they were a match as though they were sisters. Erica will be the recipient of Diane’s donated kidney next week at Yale Transplant Center.

I wish I had the words to tell the world my thankfulness for the men and women at the Yale Transplant Center. I also wish that I could find the words to express my love and thankfulness to these two amazing women. They are both living examples of what unselfish love and giving is all about. They will forever be wearing wings. I applaud them forever!
