Noise and Chaos

If the only way the Parkside Village developer can obtain funding for this project is to add additional units of affordable housing for low income families, then it’s time to find a new developer!

Because some drug addicts, alcoholics, and mentally ill are considered disabled under federal law, they are allowed to live a senior housing project such as Parkside. Now the developer wants to add low income families to the mix. How much more does the government want to dump on our seniors? Our elderly should be able to live out their golden years protected from the noise and chaos of everyday life the families of 2017 bring with them.

Affordable housing would be detrimental to the seniors residing at Parkside. It’s about respecting our seniors and their quality of life. When they leave their buildings, they shouldn’t have to worry about ducking out of the way of bicycles, scooters, or skateboards. They shouldn’t have to hear domestic disputes between parents, parents and children, or conflicts between children and children. Give our seniors the peace, comfort, and tranquility they deserve.

Parkside Village is in a beautiful setting, close to town center and Foote Park. Branford Housing Authority should refurbish Parkside Village and keep affordable housing away from the project. It’s the right thing to do.
