Support Art Awareness

Art reflects and serves the values and needs of the community. Now more than ever, it’s time to voice our support for the arts. The Madison Art Society’s purpose is to promote, sponsor, and encourage excellence in fine arts in our community, in the schools, and among our 250 artist members. The generosity of individuals, businesses, and merchants of the shoreline towns over the past 42 years has helped us to meet these goals and support art awareness along the shoreline. As a member of the Madison Chamber of Commerce, we encourage our artists to shop at nearby business establishments; as a non-profit organization, we return the community’s continued interest in the arts with our own support.

The Madison Art Society is conducting its 42nd annual Juried Art Exhibition and Sale at the E.C. Scranton Memorial Library from May 1 to 26. Over the years, the prize fund for the show has been supported by donations from many of the shoreline’s individuals and businesses. We greatly appreciate their generosity! With the partnership with our donors, we’ll continue to provide important services to the community.

Artists who sell paintings from any of the society’s exhibits are encouraged to support the library by donating 10 percent of the proceeds to the library and five percent to the Shoreline Alliance for the Arts annual student visual arts scholarship. Over the past 11 years, the library has received more than $17,000 from Madison Art Society artists. We’re delighted and proud to call the library, the town, and our shoreline neighbors our home. During the library renovations over the next few years, we’ll be looking for new places to exhibit our artist’s work.

We extend our hearty thanks to the library and the donors who continue to enhance the cultural activities of the community.
