Big box in Guilford? A really big box: a 50,000 square foot, three-story box!

This is what UHaul is going to build on top of the hill on Boston Post Road at the eastern gateway to our town unless we raise our voices to protect that neighborhood. As history has shown, if this big box comes in, there will surely be more to follow in this and other Guilford neighborhoods.

If your readers appreciate Guilford for its big heart and little community, for its big Green and small shops, and for its Big Shoreline and little beaches, and want to prevent these big boxes like those on Branford Hill and in Milford from overshadowing our small-town landscapes, I encourage them to come share their concerns and voice their opposition at the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting on Wednesday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Center.

I hope we can work together, as Guilford residents always have, to preserve Guilford’s unique status as a small town with big benefits.
