Made the Hard Choices

As hard as it is for me to believe, my daughter will graduate from The Morgan School in a little more than two months, which means that in September my husband and I will be empty nesters. I am so grateful for the excellent education that has prepared my children so well for college, and to the taxpayers of Clinton who have supported that education.

It really doesn’t seem that long ago that my son, now a junior in college, headed off for his first day of kindergarten. When a new crop of kindergarteners starts in the fall, I will remember the promise of that big first step and realize that it is now my turn to support those children and their academic future.

The Board of Education has made the hard choices (including cutting staff) that balance the needs of all stakeholders. The overwhelming majority of the increase in this year’s education budget is contractual. I hope that the people of Clinton will join me in voting “Yes” on that budget. Students are counting on us.
