Huge Success for SSKP

Thanks go to all the incredible residents of Old Saybrook and the Connecticut shoreline and beyond! They made this year’s Shoreline Fire Department (OSFD) Food Drive on Saturday, April 8, another huge success for the Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries (SSKP). The Old Saybrook Fire Department alone collected 2,626 pounds of much-needed, non-perishable food during the food drive (out of the 6,000-pound goal at the six participating shoreline fire stations) and also received cash donations of $725 for SSKP.

Thanks go to volunteers Nadine “Deanie” Sabrin; OSFD support members Rich Mulvihill, Bob Peterson, and Steve Goodstine; OSFD firefighters Tony Cronin, Don Lucas, Ron Selines, Rich Mulvihill, Sr., John and Andrew Gamble, Jerry Gil (and his two beautiful daughters Madison and Ava), Blain Moran, and Deputy Chief Joe Johnson, and to super volunteer Ray Gaudet from SSKP.

A big thank you also goes to our print media sponsor Harbor News/Shore Publishing; radio sponsors for the live remote broadcast at the OSFD with Lee Elci, 94.9 News Now; WBMW-Soft Rock 106.5 FM; Jammin’ 107.7; Nicole Nalepa, Eyewitness 3 News; and our very special volunteer Chief Meteorologist Gil Simmons of NEWS 8/WTNH.
