Can’t Lose Any More

My sons, ages 10 and 13, have exceptional teachers in the Clinton Public Schools. Those teachers, though, do not act alone: They have support from paraprofessionals in the classroom and support of their peers and administrators outside of the classroom.

As we look toward passing our new school budget, I would like people to consider that the Board of Education has made some difficult staffing decisions for next school year—including losing teaching and paraprofessional positions in the classrooms. The cuts are a regrettable indication of just how tight this budget is.

The children of Clinton need their teachers and paraprofessionals. We can’t lose any more! I encourage your readers to vote “Yes” on the proposed budget on May 10.
