Paying Close Attention
Guilford is a fantastic town to live in, with a wonderful community spirit, great schools, and many public amenities. Given the fiscal challenges facing Connecticut, I have been paying close attention to the town’s proposed budget and attended one of the public hearings.
I was impressed by the interaction of the Board of Finance, Board of Education, and Board of Selectmen, which have clearly worked hard to carefully craft a budget recognizing the realities of the current monetary constraints of Guilford taxpayers. Of the different taxes that I pay, I believe property taxes are used in the most efficient way to sustain our town’s finances.
I would encourage Guilford’s citizens to vote on April 18 and support the budget.
