Gratitude, Amplified

Thirty years of gratitude begs for expression. It’s rare when anyone can tell someone to his face that what he did mattered, but when that gratitude is amplified by generations of selfless commitment, you have to be counted.

Did coach and teacher Steve Filippone touch anyone you know? Anyone’s kid you know? You? It is likely that you know the feeling, because he was a game changer for hundreds and a life saver for many more.

No one can empty the ocean or top it off on his or her own, but Coach Fil has given to so many for so long in so many ways I want your readers to know there is a unique opportunity to finally, (finally) fully express our appreciation of his endless effort for every child.

On Sunday, April 23, starting at 1 p.m., the public can come to celebrate Coach Fil’s lifelong commitment to his kids. The celebration is a full dinner at Amarante’s Sea Cliff Inn on Cove Street in New Haven—it is affordable at $75 a piece, and for those who wish, there are larger donation options available to be made at www.tigerpride.com. Those who are email adverse just send a note and a check to Barbara Ciotti, 12 Amber Trail, Madison, CT 06443. We want him to know that his lifetime of devotion is appreciated.

It’s getting late. We will sell out, and we want everyone there. It’s time to thank Coach Fil!
