No Town Character?

I am adamant to not allow a big-box company like UHaul to permanently ruin one of the most beautiful vistas along the shoreline. The Mannix car dealership building is a classic American structure that ought to be preserved.

Guilford is a quintessential American seaside village! If a huge, three-story edifice is erected, it will ruin the town character at one of the few highest elevations among several towns on the shoreline. This spot is 100 percent unique and can be enjoyed by all who travel (especially highway 95 northbound). Do we really need yet another storage company? Have we no town character?

I am a resident of Guilford and have owned property within the historic district here since 1999. I bought a historic home and restored a two-family home back into its near-original, single-family residence, which took two years to complete. I invested in Guilford because of its charm and history. Do we want our town to be part of tacky commercialism that couldn’t care less about the people of shoreline?
