Difficult to Understand

I am writing in strong support of the March 2 letter of Deborah Robinson [“At Least Break Even”]. Ms. Robinson points out that the lovely Guilford Lakes Golf Course (GLGC) costs the town $60,000 to $70,000 per year. The cost to the people who use the course is very low, including for those who are from other towns or even other states.

In light of the many recent substantial cuts to essential community-wide services in Guilford (including even the police), it is difficult to understand the rationale for subsidizing those who play golf on the GLGC.
