Between Now and Then

I support the Board of Education (BOE)’s proposed budget. The superintendent and the board members have done everything they can to craft a budget that is both fiscally responsible and supportive of our schools. The increase is minimal—particularly given how much was cut by last year’s unfortunate budget referendum—and the money is wisely allocated. I hope that the Board of Finance will approve the BOE’s proposed budget, and that we Guilford residents will pass the budget in April.

In addition, I hope we can have open, civil conversations between now and then to learn more about how our town government works, how the budget supports the whole town, and how quality schools ultimately benefit all residents, not just families with school-age children.
