An Excellent Starting Point

The Courier has nicely described the Guilford circumstance in the Jan. 12 item, ”BOE Considers Adding Swim Team.”

Having our own facility, without question, is the goal. It would provide access by not only the talented swimmers but the average swimmers, which make up the majority of those interested.

Perhaps, initially, a joint venture with Madison for a facility in Bittner Park would be practical. This approach is working well at the Guilford Dump/Transfer Station.

Establishing a five year plan incorporating a early referendum would be essential to establish a basis for proceeding.

SWIM GUILFORD and the Pool Committee’s good work, under the guidance of Bill Meiselman and others, provides an excellent starting point.
