A Chance to Play Santa

Madison Senior Services would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s Be a Santa to a Senior campaign. With their help, we were able enrich the holidays for more than 173 seniors in Madison. The act of giving a gift to a senior who lives alone, does not have family in Connecticut, or could simply use a kind gesture was the perfect way to spread cheer during the holiday season.

This program could not have been the success that it was without the goodwill of the drivers who deliver the gifts around town the week of Christmas. The drivers had the chance to play Santa by dropping off gifts to unsuspecting seniors and reported back on the gratitude and warm receptions received from each recipient.

Most important, we would like to thank the generous individuals and groups that contributed gifts to the program: Shoreline Quilters Guild, Shoreline East Business Networking, Liberty Bank, Essex Savings Bank, AFA Electronic Recyclers, and the countless individuals who showed the true meaning of the holiday. Last but certainly not least, we would like to extend a big thank you to Home Instead Senior Care. Home Instead trimmed the Christmas trees and wrapped more than 962 gifts for shoreline seniors. Thank you and Happy New Year to all who contributed. To be involved next year, give us a call at 203-245-5627.
