An Outstanding Place

On behalf of the men and women of the Madison Police Department is it my pleasure to thank the residents of Madison and report our recent successes.

The Madison Police Food Drive was once again an outstanding achievement for everyone involved! As the result of community kindness and generosity, we donated 2,729 pounds of turkeys and filled the shelves of the Madison Community Services Food Pantry with bags of groceries too numerous to count.

The Madison Police Toy Drive made the Christmas holidays a lot happier for children and families in town. Because of the continuing charity of a countless number of townspeople, toys were also delivered to the Yale New Haven Hospital Auxiliary Toy Closet. The Toy Closet program continues to bring happiness to so many hospitalized pediatric patients as well as children receiving medical treatment in outpatient areas.

A town resident donated 18 winter jackets for the children of Madison and a local woman again this year donated bags of beautifully hand-knit hats, which were included in our Toy Drive for the children as well given to homeless shelters in New Haven.

Your readers’ generosity continues to contribute to making Madison such an outstanding place in which to live.
