A New Plan

The Jan. 5 Board of Selectmen (BOS) workshop made it clear to the public that the Shoreline Greenway Trail has misled the Guilford BOS and our town engineers for years. We are happy to see that the BOS has researched its options, so that it is now clear that the proposed Route 1 segment is unworkable. Every member of the BOS voiced their reasons for opposing it and suggested we explore alternatives.

A new plan should now grow out of a professional assessment of the pedestrian needs of our community, in contrast with the failed attempt to fulfill an abstract vision imposed on our town by a private interest group,
