A Bit Brighter for Many

I’m writing this letter to thank the citizens, organizations, and businesses from the Town of Clinton and the surrounding areas for making this year’s Holiday Toy Drive program a complete success.

There are several people who need to be recognized for their efforts in this endeavor. First I would like to thank the coordinator of the Clinton Social Services Department, Cheryl Church. Cheryl and her staff worked diligently for many days. First they had to sort the toys by age and gender, and then ultimately separate them for disbursement. Cheryl and her staff are to be lauded for their efforts. I also would like to thank the members of The Cornerstone Community Church for graciously allowing the use of their facility to sort and ultimately distribute the toys.

Also, thanks go to the usual supporters of this campaign who once again continued to help collect the toys: Dr. James Milone of The Milone Chiropractic Center, The Dance Corner and its Winter Follies event, and The Westbrook Elks #1784. Thanks go to all those businesses/organizations for their continued support.

I also want to apologize to any other organization that contributed to this year’s drive that I inadvertently failed to recognize here.

However, the most important recognition must go to all the private citizens of the Town of Clinton who generously contributed to this program. We could not succeed without their individual generosity. Because of their donations, we were able to make Christmas morning a bit brighter for so many of our not so privileged children in town.
