What’s Really Going On

I don’t get it and I’m hoping your readers can help me understand what is really going on. On Jan. 4 there is yet another attempt for CVS Pharmacy to be able to acquire the property at the corner of Route 1 and Hull Street in Clinton. Its original plan was to build a new facility to enable CVS to include a drive-through pharmacy. In last week’s Harbor News it was reported that the new plan does not include a drive through, so what’s the point?

Why does this proposal still have merit? There are three historical homes on the proposed site that should not be disturbed, and there have been salient arguments made regarding the very negative impact this proposal would have on the traffic flow in the center of Clinton.

If CVS is determined to change locations, it might look farther down West Main Street where there are commercial properties for sale with buildings of no historical significance and there is egress onto Lumberyard Road.

I hope the good people will rally against this proposal and just say “No” once again.
