Thanks to the Many


Westbrook Treelighting Committee thanks the many individuals, organizations, and businesses that made the Dec.4 event a success. Thanks go to the Westbrook Drum Corps and Westbrook Historical Society for their open houses. Thanks go to Essex Savings Bank for sponsoring the Foxglove Farm wagon rides and Westbrook Elks for sponsoring the ice sculpture.

The committee thanks the following businesses for decorations and goodies: Don Balint of Christmas Décor, Shop Rite, The Stork Exchange, Big Y, Leon’s, Sal’s, and Westbrook Pizza. Other organizations and businesses also made significant contributions: Captain Stannard House, Envirotech, Lighthouse Signs, Riggio Garden Center, Westbrook Ambulance, Emergency Management, Fire Department, Friends of the Library, Garden Club, High School’s Future Business Leaders, and the Police and Public Works departments.

Many individuals and organizations participated in the parade and performed on the Green including Cub and Boy Scouts, Daisy, Brownie, and Girl Scouts; Selectmen Noel Bishop, John Hall, and Mary Labbadia; State Senator Art Linares and state Representatives Devin Carney and Jesse Maclachlan; Reverend Jan Gregory-Charpentier, Jan Mazeau, and the children’s choir from the Congregational Church; Connecticut Volkswagen Association; Jen Capano family and friends (bonfire and s’mores!); ice sculptor Dan Medeiros, Lighthouse Church, Sunny Train-Anastasia and Chris Jankowski; Oxford Academy; Rita Trojanowski; Melissa Ehlert with elves Isabelle Esposito, Kayla Arevalo, and Riley Metcalfe; treelighter Lester Scott; VISTA students, staff, and singer Brian Ruddy; Westbrook Dance Academy; Bob Hale; Bill Taylor; Westbrook High School Band, cheerleaders, state champion field hockey team, state swimming champion Caitlyn McNary, and Kina Mama; Westbrook Junior Colonials; and Westbrook Drum Corps.

Finally, special thanks go to Barry Clark, Bill Cusson, Chris Ehlert, Scoutmaster Doug Thomas and boy scouts for set up and break down, Committee Chairman Dennis Allen, and Randy and Ann Bell.
