Stopped and Wondered

Upon entering the Wells Fargo Bank in Madison, I noticed a table to the right with a Christmas Nativity set spread out with all the traditional figures kneeling around an empty crib. They were all waiting for Him. There was the Blessed Mother Mary with St. Joseph along with shepherds and some of their flock. The wise men were there, somewhat earlier than expected. These were the persons chosen by the Father to welcome His Son into His creation.

I stopped and wondered to myself when I last saw a Nativity set in a bank or in fact any place other than a church or one’s home. I was filled with joy and gratitude and my surprise was evident to the teller who waited on me. My utmost thanks to the bank manager and all who may have been involved in the decision to place the Nativity set for the public to see. There are many businesses where their employees are not allowed even to mention Christmas—it’s either “Happy Holidays” or “Best Wishes” or some inane greeting. In conclusion, America indeed has a chance to become great again when we kneel before the empty crib awaiting His coming. This is the greatest gift that the Father could give to the world, His Son.
