Grateful, Mostly

Do you know those lovely granite curbs on North River Street? They ruined two tires and rims on our car the day after Thanksgiving at noontime on our way home from Avon. We pulled into Forte’s store, where they allowed us to park and offered to call us a taxi; then a wonderful customer overheard and volunteered to bring us home to contact AAA because our cell phone was out of power.

Can you believe that before 1 p.m. our car was on its way to McDermott’s to be repaired? Many thanks go to the people at Forte’s for their help, to the kind woman who brought us home, and to Guilford Texaco AAA for responding so quickly. So many friendly people stepped up at such a busy time to offer aid! We are very grateful to live in Gulford...not so grateful for granite curbs.
