THS Appreciates the Support

The Totoket Historical Society (THS) held another successful Holiday Bazaar on Nov. 19 at the Atwater Library in North Branford. Thanks are due to many supporters.

Because the Reynolds-Beers House, home of the THS, has been closed for several months for safety updates, the North Branford Library Board, Library Director Bob Hull, and Head Librarian Helen Glasses offered the use of the Community Room at Atwater for the bazaar. Without this kind offer, there would have been no fundraiser. The historical society gives special thanks and appreciation to the “library people” and the close relationship between the library and the historical society. THS hopes to re-open the Reynolds-Beers House in the spring.

Also, without friends and residents making donations, there would not have been a bazaar. Special thanks also go to all of them. Donations included antique lamps, fine jewelry, glassware, and linens as well as a very special hand-crocheted bedspread from the 1800s.

For collecting, sorting, and selling donated articles, many thanks go to the members of the society. They are an exceptional group in terms of time and energy they spend to keep the society going. Thanks go to all of them and a special thank you goes to Brenda De Maio for overseeing this event with Dottie Savastano.

Proceeds from the bazaar go toward the upkeep of the Little Red School House, the Reynolds-Beers House, the Little White Gas Station, and the Miller Barn.

The THS appreciates the support of the many town residents as well as those from neighboring towns who shopped at the bazaar and were generous in their donations.
