Wisdom, Skills, and Temperament

It is no secret that in the coming years the state is facing massive budget deficits. These budget deficits bring with them the probability of local tax increases for all of us in the 33rd State Senate District. It is a problem that has grown in magnitude over many years, and will take a long time to fix.

The budget mess can only be unraveled by lawmakers who have deep experience and expertise in finance, town management, union negotiations, and delivery of services at the local level. These legislators must also have the wisdom, skills, and temperament to reject party politics and work effectively across party lines.

My choice to give our district a prominent role in addressing the state budget issues is 33rd State Senate District candidate Norm Needleman (D), a serious person who has proven that he has the ability to solve serious problems as the first selectman of Essex. That is why I am endorsing Norm for election to the 33rd State Senate District.
