Willing to Collaborate

Paul Formica (R) has done an impressive job in his first term as state senator for the 20th District. He has been thoughtful and willing to collaborate with anyone for the good of the people he represents.

He has been a leader for shoreline communities and has always advocated for the economic health of our marine and tourism industries. Recently, Senator Formica became the Senate Chair of the Tourism Caucus and has been traveling the state to better understand the needs of hotels, resorts, attractions, museums, theaters, and marinas. The state recently cut the tourism budget, so it’s more important than ever that we find creative ways to attract folks to our region. As we all know, those tourism dollars go a long way in supporting our local and state economy.

Paul has also been a leader in protecting our coastal wetlands and open space, so that future generations can enjoy the region as many of us do. It comes as no surprise to me that he has been endorsed by both business and environmental groups for re-election. He respects the Long Island Sound’s natural beauty while also understanding that it is an economic engine for the region—especially in Old Saybrook. We could use more senators like Paul in Hartford—strong, collaborative, and full of common sense.

He has my support and I hope your readers will support him as well on Nov. 8.
