The Voice of Reason

Voting for local officials is about trust. The work they do in office, whether as leaders in our towns or in state office, has local and often near term impact. We trust that they represent us and use their leadership and influence to drive positive change. Norm Needleman (D) has earned the trust of the people of Essex, and is ready and eager to represent the citizens of the 33rd District in the Connecticut State Senate. He does so, not as an aspiring career politician, but as one of us from the community truly wanting to represent the needs and interests of our local towns in the District in driving change at the State level.

I had the opportunity to listen to Norm in recent debates in Deep River and Westbrook. What I observed in Norm is a leader who is willing to break rank with the party if it’s the right thing to do. On Essex issues, he’s often the voice of reason in a crowd, and can quickly bring people to an understanding of all sides, followed by dialogue and consensus. As a citizen, I trust that he’ll do the same in the State Senate, and am eager to have his voice represent our local interests there.

I encourage your readers to consider a vote for Norm. His experience in growing a very successful business in Connecticut, his long involvement in community, his understanding of the challenges of small towns in a diverse state, and his ability to cross the political aisle to achieve change is why he has my vote.
