Showing of Community Support


Although Mother Nature didn’t quite cooperate this year, the 16th annual Pumpkin Festival was held on its rain date of Oct. 23, a beautifully brisk but breezy night. More than 800 people attended and there were approximately 250 carved pumpkins on display. Although not a record, it was a fair showing of community support.

It’s important to recognize all the volunteers, donors, and sponsors without whose support our Ivoryton Village Pumpkin Festival would not be possible. They are:

We would also like to thank the support of The Town of Essex. We received assistance from the Department of Public Works and Maintenance Department, Selectman’s Office, and Police Department.

Many families hosted carving parties, gathering neighbors and friends together to be a part of this event, and then came out and enjoyed all the wonderful activities our event had to offer. That’s the ultimate goal of the Festival—bringing our community together reinforcing the Park & Recreation’s Department’s motto: Creating Community Through People, Parks, and Programs.
