Excellent Representation

My name is Alan Schwarz. I am a lifelong resident of Connecticut and have been a family physician in Meriden for the past 36-plus years. I love our state, but recently I have become very concerned about its future. Many of my patients are either moving or attempting to move out of the state. They say they can no longer afford to live here due to the high taxes and the cost of living. These are hardworking and tax-paying residents.

It is time to change the balance of power in our state legislature and executive branch. The state is in near bankruptcy. It is hard to believe that with all the taxes, the state is still projected to have a huge deficit in the area of $2.5 billion. Where has all the money gone?

In Old Saybrook and surrounding areas, we are fortunate to have excellent representation in the House and Senate with State Senator Art Linares, Jr. (R-33) and State Representative Devon Carney (R-23).

It is very important that everybody votes on Nov. 8—Democrats, Republicans, and independents. The future of our state depends on it.
