Dedication, Work Ethic, and Leadership

I write in support of Devin Carney for reelection as our State Representative. About 2 ½ years ago I met Devin when I heard Marilyn Giuliano was retiring from public office. He decided to run because he wanted to push back against policies detrimental to the future of our state and region and help move Connecticut in the right direction. Two years later, he still has that same drive and passion. One difference between Devin from two years ago and today is that he’s even better.

Devin takes his time with constituents, cares about their opinions, and believes in transparency and quality outreach. In these past two years, he has frequently updated constituents through emails and regular office hours. He has pledged to continue this same level of service in the next two years.

He has strong ideas to move our economy in the right direction. He believes we can’t tax our way out of the deficit, but we need to prioritize our budget, control spending, and implement pension reform. I agree with him. Many of us have seen friends and family leave our town and our region due to high taxes and the cost of living in Connecticut—Devin sees it too and knows changes need to happen.

Devin has carried on Marilyn’s legacy of impeccable constituent service, thoughtful legislation, and effective representation of all of us. Those were big shoes to fill, but I know she would be proud—as many of us are—of his dedication, work ethic, and leadership. I am incredibly proud of the job he has done and I encourage everyone to vote for him on Nov. 8.
