Championed Fresh Alternatives

With all the noise and vitriol being created around the presidential election this year, it’s very important to remember that the offices up for reelection, on the state level, may have more of a direct impact on our area, its economics, and quality of life issues, than the actions or inactions coming out of Washington.

I believe we have been very fortunate to have as our representatives to Hartford committed representatives: State Representative Devin Carney (R-23) and State Senator Art Linares, Jr. (R-33). I believe each possesses the characteristics that make for a respected, effective statesman: honesty, integrity, and primacy of the needs of their constituents when advocating policies and positions. I have been impressed with the vigor each has displayed while performing their duties to our citizenry.

These gentlemen have established records supporting lower taxes, responsible spending, and a commitment to defend our lawful rights. However, more than just advocates for sensible policy, these gentlemen understand our community, know our neighbors, and they have made themselves readily available to their constituents, and not just during campaign season.

It is no partisan criticism to state the obvious, that Connecticut is barely treading water economically. Our state is continually seeing our seniors and retirees heading out of state for more livable locations, and our children are graduating and moving elsewhere in search of meaningful job opportunities. Sadly, there has been stubborn opposition in Hartford to the systemic changes needed in order to provide a stable, sustainable budget and a competitive business environment.

Art and Devin have championed fresh alternatives to the stale policies that have led to our economic stagnation. Let’s reward their fine efforts by honoring them with our continued support on Election Day.
