A Positive Difference

Two years ago I supported Devin Carney (R-23) for state representative because of his character and integrity, not because of any political leaning. From my point of view, as a lifelong Democrat, Devin has not caused me to question my support even though our parties are different.

He truly cares about all of the residents of the 23rd District and is willing to stand up for people from all walks of life. He’s there for seniors like me, he’s there for our children, and he’s there for everyone in between.

Born and raised in Old Saybrook, Devin understands our town and our people. He understands the costs of owning a home and raising a family here. He recognizes the importance of maintaining our quality schools. He knows how vital tourism and the Long Island Sound are in providing economic opportunity for small businesses. These are all things he’s fought for in his first two years. He has taken Old Saybrook values with him to the Capitol and always stands up for us and what’s right.

There has been a lot of muck and mud in this election season, so it’s wonderful to see a politician who always focuses on the good of the people he represents, regardless of age, regardless of income, and regardless of political party. He’s not in office for partisan accolades or media coverage, he’s there to make a positive difference in our lives. We are lucky to have Devin as our state representative and I can’t wait to vote for him again on Nov. 8.
