Supporting and Promoting the Arts

The Branford Arts & Cultural Alliance (BACA) has been in existence since spring 2015. Since its inception, BACA has been focused on fulfilling its primary mission of supporting and promoting the arts in Branford. We have provided opportunities for residents to enjoy art while also offering local artists opportunities to show their work in various town venues. We have also succeeded in opening the Academy on the Green, a venerable local landmark, as a venue for arts focused events. All of BACA’s events are free and open to the public.

We believe that BACA has done much to enhance the quality of life in Branford by providing opportunities for artists to display their work to appreciative audiences. We have become a membership organization with more than 100 members and we expect to continue to organize and support arts and culturally focused events for all of us to enjoy and appreciate.

In order to provide BACA with the resources that will enable us to accomplish more of these kinds of activities, we are presenting a concert on Saturday, Nov. 5 at an iconic Pine Orchard home featuring tenor Jorge Prego and a showing of the works of local artist Robert Reynolds. The evening will include a champagne and dessert reception and a tour of the home as well. Tickets, which are $50, are available at Towne Pharmacy and the Branford Art Center—readers may call 203-464-4766 for more information.
